The vision
This proposal lays out the site structure, the end-to-end delivery process, the technology behind it, and three investment options — so you can choose the level of build that fits where you want to start, with a clear path to scale up later without rebuilding anything.
Everything here is designed around one goal: when someone looks you up, the site tells them exactly who you are right now — business owner, storyteller, advocate, investor, host — not who you used to be.
Entrepreneurship gets its own place in the primary navigation, not a mention in a bio. If people don't currently understand that you run businesses, that's a structural problem as much as a messaging one — the site fixes both.
What's inside this proposal
- Site structure — the full page map, organized so it's clean up front and detailed underneath.
- Lifecycle — how the build actually happens, start to finish, all handled in-house.
- Tech & security — the platform, hosting, and protection behind the site, in plain language.
- Investment — three tiers, a full feature comparison, and a timeline for each.
Site structure
A concise primary navigation with more detail broken out underneath — clean at a glance, thorough where it counts.
Notes on key pages
- Ventures is where the business owner lives — the companies, the ownership stakes, the operator's point of view. This is the part of the story people miss, so it gets its own section in the primary navigation rather than a line buried in a bio.
- Investing sits under Ventures as its own page — her voice on building wealth and moving from operator to investor, without being tied to any one line of business.
- Literary Works leads with the essay "The 49th Year," with a blog section beneath it for ongoing posts — also a key page for AI/search visibility (see Tech & security).
- Engagements splits into a public Schedule and a dedicated Book Melyssa page, since booking is her top conversion goal.
- Non-Profit Work holds a placeholder slot now; title and description drop in once she confirms status with her CPA.
End-to-end delivery lifecycle
Every phase handled in-house, start to finish — from infrastructure to the site she logs into on day one.
DevOps
Hosting, domain, environment setup
UX / UI design
Sitemap, wireframes, visual identity
Development
Full build across every page
Security & hardening
Firewall, backups, 2FA
Delivery to production
QA, launch, handoff
- DevOps — domain, DNS, and hosting environment provisioned and secured before anything is built.
- UX / UI design — sitemap finalized, wireframes, and visual identity (colors, layout, logo direction) established together with you.
- Development — the full build across every page in the sitemap, with integrations connected.
- Security & hardening — the level of protection here scales with the tier you choose (see Tech & security).
- Delivery to production — a full QA pass, a content review together, launch, and a walkthrough so you're confident managing it yourself.
Technology & infrastructure
Content management: WordPress
WordPress is the recommended platform — it gives you an easy login to post updates yourself, and its plugin ecosystem is what makes the AI-visibility work below possible without custom development.
Cloudflare Gold
What it is: Cloudflare sits between the site's server and every visitor, acting as a global traffic filter and accelerator. What it's for: faster page loads worldwide, absorbing attacks before they reach the server, free SSL encryption, and a firewall that blocks common attack patterns.
Security stack Entry level: Sapphire Advanced: Gold
- Sapphire includes entry-level security protocols — SSL, basic login protection, and standard WordPress hardening.
- Gold adds the full layered stack: Cloudflare at the edge, an endpoint firewall and malware scanner inside WordPress, two-factor login, activity logging, and ongoing vulnerability patching.
CRM & email Gold
What it is: a CRM (customer relationship management system) is a single place to store every contact and track where things stand with them, instead of leads scattered across email, DMs, and texts. What it's for: keeping speaking inquiries and brand-partnership contacts organized, with the goal of converting casual visitors into fans or booked engagements.
Visibility to AI assistants (LLMs) Sapphire and up
What they are: Large Language Models (LLMs) are the AI systems behind tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity — more people now ask an AI assistant a question directly instead of searching and clicking through a list of links.
Why it matters here: when someone asks an AI assistant who you are or what you're doing now, the goal is for that answer to come from your own site, in your own words — not outdated coverage or someone else's summary.
- FAQs page — structured question-and-answer content is exactly the format these AI systems parse most reliably.
- Blog & essays — a growing body of first-person, dated content is the strongest signal of authorship and relevance.
- RSS feed — a live, complete feed on the blog is what gets a new post picked up quickly by AI crawlers instead of sitting unindexed.
Design concept
A live, click-through mockup of the visual direction — scroll and click around inside it just like the real site. This loads the actual working design, not a static image.
Investment tiers
